The post is based at the Bellarine Community Health Centre in Newcomb, Victoria in the Bellarine Community Mental Health Team. We are based just a few minutes drive from the city of Geelong and there is ample on-site parking available.
The position would suit someone who would like to spend 3 months on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsular in Victoria, working part time to support an active and enthusiastic community mental health team.
The psychiatrist leads an integrated (inpatient and community) mental health team providing multidisciplinary mental health care for adults from 26-64 years of age for clients in the Bellarine catchment area.
The team provides mental health crisis management, intake assessments of new patients, and case management for approximately 140 patients together with subacute and acute inpatient care. The consultant is supported by a full time registrar (College Trainee).
Barwon Health Mental Health Services has a 24-bed acute inpatient unit and a 6-bed PARC facility.
Applicants must hold the FRANZCP or MRCPsych (UK) and be accreditable as a supervisor by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and be registered or eligible for general or specialist registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria. Applicants who do not fulfil these criteria will not be considered.
